Four people were injured in an explosion in under-construction building at Taltala Bazar in Dhaka’s Agargaon area on Monday.
The injured were Robin, 19, Rafiqul Islam, 24, Swarlal Das, 45 and Mozaffar, 26.
Md Tariqul Islam, resident medical officer of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery, said the workers who were working in the building bought an empty drum of chemical to keep water for use.
When they were cutting the lid of the drum, an explosion occurred at 9 am, leaving four workers injured, said Shafiqul Islam, a co-worker.
Later, they were taken to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery.
Of them, Robin received 22% burn injuries while Rafiqul received 43% burn injuries. The two others suffered slight injury and they were kept under observation.
