A total of four people were killed and as many sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two private cars in Purbachan area of Rupganj on Tuesday morning.
One of the three injured individuals was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while the rest three to Kurmitola General Hospital, according to police.
The head-on collision took place between a private car bound for Kuril Bishwa Road and another private car heading towards Kanchan around 9 am, leaving eight people injured critically, police said, quoting eyewitnesses.
On information, police and firefighters from neighbouring areas rushed to the spot and sent the victims to DMCH and Kurmitola General Hospital.
Of them, three succumbed to their injuries at Kurmitola and one at DMCH.
Further details including the identities of the victim could not be known immediately.
