ActionAid celebrates resilience of communities

ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) organized a two-day festival titled ‘Festival of Resilience: People, Planet and Possibilities’ from June 9 to 10 to celebrate the resilience of communities of Bangladesh and the country’s glorious heritage, culture, and traditions, a press release said.

The festival held at the Naveed’s Comedy Club in Gulshan was aimed to encourage celebration and participation among communities in recognition of their stories of resilience and strength to strive and rise above all odds.

The festival included a wide range of activities, such as discussions, story-telling etc.

Farah Kabir, Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh, Dr. Maleka Banu, General Secretary of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad, Dr. M Khalilur Rahman, Member of the General Assembly, AAIBS, Espen Rikter-Svendsen, Ambassador, Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka, Nayoka Martinez-Backstrom, First Secretary, Environment & Climate Change, Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, Imtiaz Ahmed, Professor of International Relations & Director of Centre for Genocide Studies, University of Dhaka, Naveed Mahbub, Popular Comedian and Columnist, Tania Wahab, Entrepreneur, Afsan Chowdhury, journalist and researcher, Shameem Akhtar, filmmaker and media activist), Shakil Ahmed, futurist, educator, and storyteller, Mahrukh Mohiuddin, Managing Director of the University Press Limited, Afzal Hossain, popular actor and director and Ahsan Rony, founder  of Greensaver also spoke on the occasion.
