Agami Netrakona Chapter (ANC) organized an Iftar party and distributed Eid Gifts to the Dalit community children in Shararitu, Netrakona to sharing Eid happiness with them.
Civil society members, cultural activists from different organizations, student leaders, ANC volunteers, and other officials attended the programme.
Abdur Rahman Khan, Director of Field Operation of Agami Education Foundation in the welcome speech said, “Agami stands for ensuring quality education for the underprivileged children of the society. Agami believes, we can make a beautiful tomorrow only through education but unfortunately, the marginalized children don’t get enough education facilities.”
Netrakona Municipality Mayor, Nazrul Islam Khan said, “The municipality is going to take a special project for improving the living condition of Dalit Community people”.
He said he is extremely happy that the Agami Netrakona Chapter has come forward to improve the education of the colony children and his administration will ensure any kind of logistics support to successfully implement this initiative.
Tabassum Maisha Mona, the project coordinator, said ANC has recently initiated a project titled “Enhancing Access of Dalit Community Children to Primary Education” in collaboration with the Netrakona Municipality to ensure educational opportunities for the children belonging to the marginalized group.
She said the Iftar party and new clothes would multiply happiness among the kids because a new dress to celebrate Eid means a lot to those who are needy. ANC would like to continue this noble work, she added.
ANC Convener Motindra Sarker said Dalit Community children are no more untouched class of the society. The ANC is here to support and educate them, he said, thanking all for attending the event.
