There is a long-standing complaint that the government is not getting the desired passenger service despite getting a huge amount of revenue due to the travel tax of passengers from Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura airport. In order to provide modern passenger services, a private help desk has been opened. Chairman of Bangladesh Lavender Authority Zillur Rahman inaugurated the virtual help desk on Wednesday afternoon.
An organization called Twelve Events Meet Great Assist has opened a help desk at Akhaura Lavender for the first time among the lavenders of the country. Passengers can avail other services from the desk including parking, wheelchair and trolley services for a limited fee. Apart from this, the help desk also has the facility to book domestic flights and train tickets. Along with this, information regarding visa processing will also be provided to the passengers.

Note that Akhaura Lavender is one of the means of communication with Northeast India. Every day 700-800 passengers leave India through this port. Each passenger has to pay a travel tax of 1000 taka. However, the complaint of not getting the desired passenger service is long-standing.
