Paying rich tribute to Bangabandhu, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud Monday said the anti-liberation forces are still active in Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh and they need to be eliminated.
“Today is the 50th anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s home coming. Though we achieved independence on December 16, 1971, the joy of the final victory of the Liberation War was fulfilled after the arrival of the Great Leader on January 10 in 1972,” he said.
The minister stated these after placing wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital marking the Home Coming Day of Bangabandhu.
Hasan said the country is marching forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu. Bangladesh is now a middle-income and food-surplus country, he added.
He said Bangladesh has been established as a dignified state before the world under the supervision of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. But, the anti-liberation forces are hatching conspiracies till now, said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.
He said Jamaat and their collaborators who were against the independence are still with BNP and they are plotting against the sovereignty, development and progress of the country. So, it is needed to exterminate the evil forces, he added.
