“Ashutosh Chakraborty Memorial Scholarship 2024” was held for the 10th time on Saturday, 13th July, at Sarail, Brahmanbaria.
This scholarship was held at Independence Hall of Sarail Upazila of Brahmanbaria. On behalf of the family of Swargiya Ashutosh Chakraborty, in continuation of the previous years, this scholarship is given to the students who have the first place in the merit list of 6th to 10th class of 13 top schools of Sarail and Ashuganj upazila, as well as among the poor meritorious students of different high schools of Sarail and to admit the students of various merits of Sarail to higher education. They are felicitated for success. A total of 100 students are awarded this scholarship.
Apart from the monetary grant, each scholarship student is awarded a medal, crest, certificate and gift box. Justice Md. Kamrul Hossain Mollah – High Court Division, Bangladesh Supreme Court and in-charge Judge, Monitoring Committee for Subordinate Courts, Chittagong-2 were present as the chief guests on the occasion. In his speech, he advised the students to focus more on their studies. He said – “No nation can progress without education so maximum emphasis should be given on education system”.
The Chief Guest thanked the family of Swargiya Ashutosh Chakraborty for providing such an aesthetic and inspiring scholarship to students. Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of Universal Medical College Hospital and the main promoter of Ashutosh Chakraborty Memorial Scholarship delivered the welcome address at the beginning of the program. Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office – 2 Md. Shahidul Islam spoke as the guest of honor at the event under the chairmanship of Pushpa Chakraborty, the wife of the late Ashutosh Chakraborty and the chief advisor of the scholarship program.
Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shakhawat Hossain BPM (Service) and Brahmanbaria 1st Joint District and Sessions Judge Md Nazrul Islam spoke as special guests. Sarail Upazila Parishad Chairman Md. Sher Alam Mia, Sarail Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mejba Ul Alam Bhuiyan, Sarail Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Rakibul Hasan and Sarail Thana Officer-in-Charge Md. Emranul Islam addressed the event. In their speech, the speakers thanked the organizers for sponsoring such education stimulating activities for a long time and also called for further increase in the caliber of this scholarship. Apart from this, scholarship students, their parents and teacher representatives expressed their feelings. Bachik artist Monir Hossain of Brahmanbaria conducted the whole program.
