The Career and Placement Center (CPC) at North South University proudly hosted the Closing Ceremony for the 8th Batch of the Bangladesh Miyazaki ICT Engineers’ Educational Training Project (B-MEET) on October 3, 2024.
The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, who delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in education. He said, “Japan’s rich and diverse culture offers a unique opportunity for us to understand different ways of life. Through cultural exchange and sharing of knowledge, we can strengthen our global understanding and contribute to making the world a more peaceful place. I encourage our students to explore the potential of building careers in the global market, where they can gain experiences and contribute to global innovation and collaboration.”
Mr. Sinnusuke Tasaka, Project Manager of B-MEET, and Professor Yasunori Yano, Sub-Project Manager of B-MEET, provided an introduction to the University of Miyazaki (UoM), highlighting the significance of this training program. Additionally, Ms. Minami Kurokami, a representative of the JICA Bangladesh Office, joined as a special guest, along with Mr. AKM Ahmedul Islam Babu, Chairman of the BASIS Japan Desk. Furthermore, Ms. Sina Sardar, a Japanese language teacher from the University of Miyazaki, congratulated the trainees on their remarkable achievements.
The successful graduates shared their transformative experiences, highlighting how the program equipped them with essential skills in business etiquette, the Japanese language, and cultural understanding of the Japanese job market. During the certificate-giving ceremony, forty dedicated trainees were recognized for their exceptional performance, based on criteria such as program completion, active participation, and perfect attendance. These certificates symbolize their commitment to excellence and readiness to contribute to the IT industry.
In his closing remarks, Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director of CPC, celebrated the remarkable achievements of the trainees and the collaborative spirit of B-MEET. As the 8th Batch graduates embark on their professional journeys, the CPC of North South University is excited to continue nurturing future leaders in the ICT sector and strengthening ties between Bangladesh and Japan.
