Banglalink elevates efficiency with P.I. Works

Banglalink has taken a major step towards optimizing energy efficiency and improving user experience through the adoption of P.I. Works’ Predictive Energy Saving (PES) module integrated with Self-Organizing Networks (SON) capabilities.

Banglalink has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) into its engineering processes, using P.I. Works’ AI solutions.

The innovative SON modules help to reduce energy consumption by deactivating underutilized carriers. With coordinated SON features, Banglalink has enhanced network performance while minimizing human errors, ultimately elevating user experience.

This AI-driven approach is part of Banglalink’s AI1440 strategy, which aims to optimize operations every minute of the day. By leveraging AI, the company has improved operational efficiency, reduced costs, and minimized its environmental impact, all while delivering a seamless and superior experience for its customers.

The AI and ML powered system has the ability to collect, process, and analyze massive data to execute decisions without human intervention, ultimately stepping up the game of Quality of Service (QoS) assurance on near-real time manner.

PI works is a global player in the solution provider ecosystem, bringing extensive experience and insights of diverse market to customize solutions based on the needs of individual company. Banglalink has also prioritized energy reduction and decarbonization initiative among all others by deactivating underutilized carriers in the hours of low usage.

Since the implementation in May 2024, Banglalink has successfully implemented SON solutions actions across 15.5 thousand base stations and executed intelligent decisions by processing billions of data points. This approach ensures no impact on network performance while significantly improving Quality of Service (QoS) and reducing energy consumption. As a result, Banglalink has realized up to 15% performance improvement on applicable cells and a 3.00% reduction in energy usage on network scale.

Huseyin Turker, Chief Technology and Information Officer, Banglalink, said, “Banglalink is at the forefront of leveraging AI-driven innovation to transform the telecommunications industry while PI Work’s AI-powered Self-Organized Network (SON) tools are simplifying network management and significantly enhancing operational efficiency in various capacities. By integrating their advanced AI algorithms, we have achieved real-time network resource optimization and dynamic traffic management, ensuring seamless connectivity and an improved user experience. This initiative aligns perfectly with our AI 1440 strategy, enabling us to reduce operational costs while substantially boosting Banglalink’s Network Promoter Score. Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to breaking new ground, delivering exceptional service, and fostering sustainable growth for a greener future.”

Başar Akpınar, CEO & Co-Founder of P.I. Works, said, “P.I. Works is delighted to partner with Banglalink to help them achieve its goals towards sustainable network operations. Our solution not only enhances network efficiency but also plays a vital role in reducing carbon emissions, perfectly complementing Banglalink’s strategy towards building a sustainable future for Bangladesh.”
