A delegation of Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust(BCKT) met with Lt. Gen. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Rtd.), Adviser on Home Affairs, in his office room at the Bangladesh Secretariat Monday (November 04) with the aim of reforming the education system, education policy and education curriculum in Bangladesh. Prof. Md. Moin Uddin Khan, Chairman, Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust and Adviser of Former Caretaker Government lead the delegation. The other members of the delegation were Founder and Executive Director of Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust Principal Noore Alam Talukdar Member of Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust and General Secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad Farooq Hasan, Joint Convener of Gono Odhikar Parishad Md. Tarek Rahman and President of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Peshajidi Dal and Director of Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust Ariful Islam Zia and Mustakima Islam Meem, Director of Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust. During the meeting, the delegation led by Prof. Md. Moin Uddin Khan, Chairman, Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust and Adviser of Former Caretaker Government urged the advisor to immediately set up an education reform commission for the purpose of reforming the education system of Bangladesh and emphasized on the appointment of qualified teachers in primary schools and their proper training. Bangladesh Chhatra Kalyan Trust Executive Director and Principal Noore Alam Talukdar said that the current interim government has formed 6 commissions after coming to power, but it is a matter of great sadness and regret that the education reform commission has not been formed till date However, we all say that education is the backbone of the nation, so if it is, then first of all, reform of the education system is very important if the nation is to stand tall. Therefore, it is important to form an education reform commission comprising all stake holders without delay and urged for the representative of Chhatra Kalyan Trust should also be included in this commission. The executive director of Chhatra Kalyan Trust briefly highlighted the activities of the trust in the last 24 years and said that to improve the quality of education in the country, Chhatra Kalyan Trust has adopted and implemented various welfare programs for students since its establishment. Among them, from 2001 to 2009, free textbooks were distributed among about ten target students from 6th to 9th grade all over the country. During the discussion, the executive director of the student welfare trust, the founding chairman of the trust and the former president, Professor Dr. He highlighted the special role of Yazuddin Ahmed.
