BPCCI delegation calls on Philippine Ambassador

Humayun Rashid, President of the Bangladesh Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI), and Imran Ahmed, Vice President of BPCCI, has recently met with Nina P. Cainglet, the Philippine ambassador to Bangladesh.

The meeting was held on 7 January 2025. During the meeting, the delegation from BPCCI discussed pivotal topics and underscored the need for strengthening economic ties between Bangladesh and the Philippines.

Prospective sectors for increasing bilateral ties include market development of agro products & services, skill development & technology training transfer, air connectivity, and logistics & communication services.

Both parties emphasized the potential for expanding trade in agricultural goods, aiming to enhance the agricultural supply chain and increase the variety of agro products available in both countries. Recognizing the importance of a skilled workforce, the discussion centered around initiatives for technological training and knowledge exchange between the two countries. Moreover, the delegation put emphasis on improving air links between Bangladesh and the Philippines to facilitate better movement of goods and people, thus fostering closer economic ties. They also explored strategies to streamline logistics and improve communication services, which are crucial for efficient trade operations.

This meeting reflects the commitment of both the nations to deepen their economic relationship and create new opportunities for businesses and investors.
