BRAC Bank has launched 31 new outlets during this year across the country despite the unfavorable pandemic situation, a press release said on Tuesday.
With the new outlets, the total outlets of BRAC Bank now stand at 531, one of the fast-growing agent banking network in the country. Among all commercial banks in Bangladesh, BRAC Bank has succeeded to be on the top in providing loans to customers through this network, the release read.
Managing Director and CEO of the bank, Selim R.F. Hussain, said: “Our journey may have been hindered by the COVID-19 in the last year-and-a-half, but we are happy to begin 2021 with a significant growth in new outlets to meet our vision through the inclusive banking model of Agent Banking”.
Head of Alternate Banking Channels at BRAC Bank, Nazmur Rahim said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we deliver banking services. Over 90% of our outlets continued serving customers with a range of banking services through the lockdowns, and that too at extended hours beyond conventional bank transaction time. Moreover, our Agents have provided banking services such as the opening of accounts, foreign remittance payment, cash deposit and withdrawal, fund transfer, and more directly at the doorstep of customers by visiting their homes, businesses or offices”.
