BRAC Bank has partnered with Chittagong Independent University (CIU) to launch an academic collaboration for the bank’s signature programme, ‘Uddokta 101,’ which aims to advance women’s entrepreneurship.
This partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony held on October 29, 2024, at the CIU campus in Jamal Khan, Chittagong.
‘Uddokta 101’ is a comprehensive three-month certification course designed to help women entrepreneurs expand their business knowledge, enhance their skills, and build valuable networks.
The programme will equip participants with essential insights into a variety of business topics, empowering them to grow and expand their businesses sustainably.
Syed Abdul Momen, Deputy Managing Director and Head of SME Banking of BRAC Bank, and Anjuman Banu Lima, Registrar of CIU, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
The signing ceremony was attended by CIU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. MM Nurul Absar, along with other distinguished guests including Dr. Moslehuddin Khaled Chowdhury, Director of CIU’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Sustainable Development; Dean of the School of Science; and other university representatives.
Senior officials attending from BRAC Bank included Mohammad Jakirul Islam, Head of Strategy, Innovation, and New Business, SME Banking; and other officials.
Through this partnership, BRAC Bank and CIU aim to contribute meaningfully to women’s empowerment by equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with skills and resources, furthering their potential to drive economic growth and societal progress.
