BRAC University celebrates World Children’s Day

BRAC University celebrated World Children’s Day with a vibrant and engaging event at its Merul Badda campus, embracing this year’s global theme, “Listen to the Future”. Organized in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, BRAC Institute of Educational Development (BIED), and the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team, the event brought together children and parents for a day of creativity, learning, and family bonding.

The celebration showcased BRAC University’s commitment to nurturing young minds and strengthening family connections. The day began with children receiving handmade play materials crafted by BIED, sparking their curiosity and creativity. Meanwhile, parents participated in an interactive session led by MHPSS experts, offering valuable insights into fostering their children’s emotional and cognitive development.

Parents and children engaged in hands-on toy-making, drawing, and reinforcing family bonds through shared experiences. A captivating puppet-based storytelling session transported children into a magical world of imagination, followed by an energetic singing and dancing segment that filled the venue with laughter and joy. As part of the festivities, Professor Mohammad Mahboob Rahman, Treasurer of BRAC University and the Chief Guest, cut a cake with the children and parents to mark the joyous occasion of World Children’s Day.

Professor Mahboob Rahman expressed his appreciation, saying, “This event showcases BRAC University’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for children and their families to grow and thrive together. We are overjoyed to witness the happiness and learning this celebration has inspired.” Dr. David Dowland, Registrar, and Dr. Rubana Ahmed, Proctor, along with Tahsina Rahman, Joint Director, Student Life, also attended the program.

Dr. Dowland and Professor Rahman actively participated in the activities, engaging with children and parents to further reinforce the day’s spirit of connection and joy.

Through initiatives like these, BRAC University reaffirms its dedication to shaping future leaders by investing in the holistic development of children and strengthening the foundations of family and community care. Since its establishment, the university has been at the forefront of educational excellence, research, and social engagement, working tirelessly to build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
