BWDB gets new DG

Engineer Muhammad Amirul Haque Bhuyan joined Bangladesh Water Development Board (BMDB) as Director General on March 7, 2024. Before joining the present post, he was serving as Additional Director General (Western Region).

He obtained his BSc in Civil Engineering degree from the then BIT, Rajshahi (now Nuet) in 1987. He joined the Bangladesh Water Development Board in 1992 as Assistant Engineer (PUR) and served in various positions with skill.

During his working life, he successfully and efficiently performed duties in various field departments of Barrage Project, Hydrology, Processing and Flood Forecasting Circle, Conservation Project of various rivers.

During his 32 years of service in Bangladesh Water Development Board, he successfully participated in various seminars and trainings in Italy, Germany and India and successfully applied the acquired knowledge in the development of Bangladesh Water Development Board.

Engineer Muhammad Amirul Haqbhooya was born in 1966 in a noble Muslim family of Salesi Rajganj district. He is a Life Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (OUI).
