Prof. Dr Jiemian Yang, Director of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies ( SIIS), China Saturday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today at the latter’s office here.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs among the University of Dhaka and different universities in China, said a DU press release.
They also discussed about further development of Dhaka University’s Center for China Studies to conduct pragmatic researches and stressed the need for internationalization of the center as well as utilizing it to strengthen relationship between Bangladesh and China.
Exchange of students, teachers and researchers as well as share knowledge and idea among DU and Chinese universities were also discussed in the meeting.
Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan thanked the guest for his visit to Dhaka University and expressing keen interest in its academic and research activities.
Earlier, Prof. Dr Jiemian Yang delivered a lecture on China-Bangladesh Mutual Learning on Economic and Social Developments at Prof. Abdul Matin Choudhury virtual classroom of the university.
Prof. Dr Jiemian Yang stressed the need for upholding persistent, self- reliance and adaptive attitudes to develop overall socio-economic condition of the country.
He shared different Chinese experiences in this regard at the lecture, attended teachers and students from different universities and officials concerned as well.
