Community Initiative Society (CIS) and Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) Bangladesh handed over emergency food items to the Chief Advisor’s Relief and welfare Fund through Bangladesh Army and the food items which will be cooked later and distributed among 10,000 flood affected people. The food items include Rice, Lentil, Salt, Potato, Soyabean oil, Onion, Garlic, Turmeric, Cumin, and Chili powder & Drinking Water.
Since 20th August 2024, Bangladesh is facing extensive flooding, impacting about 5.7 million vulnerable communities in northeastern, eastern and southeastern regions, following weeks of ongoing heavy rains that have submerged homes and devastated resources and caused 31 fatalities till date. From the beginning The Community Initiative Society (CIS) actively supported the flood-affected areas by providing emergency Food, Non-Food & Health Support to the vulnerable community and will continue till the situation gets better.
