Coal for Rampal: First shipment of 4,000 tons reach Khulna

The first consignment of nearly 4,000 tonnes of coal for Rampal Thermal Power Plant in Bangladesh has reached Khulna port Sunday.

The consignment left from Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata for Khulna on July 2.

The Coal, sourced from Dhanbad,  isgoing to be exported to Rampal Power Station, from Mongla.

Near about 20,000 Tones of Indian Coal will be send from SMP Kolkata to Bangladesh per month.

The power plant has been set up by Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Limited in a joint venture between NTPC of India and Bangladesh Power Development Board.

On this significant moment, Shri Vinit Kumar, Chairman, SMP, Kolkata stated that SMP Kolkata has been declared a hub of Bangladesh for Coal & IWT traffic with various incentives.
