Health authorities in Bangladesh have registered 4 more deaths and 674 new cases from Covid-19 across the country in last 24 hours to Monday morning.
With the latest additions, the death toll reached 28,081 and the case tally climbed to 1587,140 in the country so far, said the daily statement issued by the DGHS.
Also, the positivity rate went up to 3.37 percent, up from 2.91 percent a day ago, which is the highest since 2 October.
Bangladesh reported one death and 551 cases in the previous day.
Also, 214 patients were declared Covid free during the 24 hours period, taking the recovery rate to 97.65 percent.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s total tally of Omicron cases stood at 10 with detection of three cases on Friday, according to GISAID, a global initiative on sharing all influenza data.
On December 9, Bangladesh again logged zero Covid-related death after nearly three weeks as the pandemic was apparently showing signs of easing.
The country reported this year’s first zero Covid-related death in a single day on November 20 along with 178 infections since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
The country’s maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
