Health authorities in Bangladesh have registered 6 more deaths and 4,378 new infections from COvid-19 across the country in last 254 hours to Friday morning,
With the latest figures, the national Covid-19 death toll has reached 28,129 while the number of total caseload has reached 1609,042 in the country so far, according to the daily statement issued by the Director General of Health Services (DGHS).
Also, the current positivity rate went up to 14.66 percent maintaining an upward trend prevailing around the globe thanks to the latest Covid variant, Omicron.
Meanwhile, the health officials tested 29,871 samples across the country during the 24 hours period.
Among the six victims, three were from the Dhaka division, two from Chattogram and one from Rajshahi division.
The recovery count rose to 1552,306 after another 351 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.
From the beginning of the pandemic, 96.47 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people while 1.75 percent died, the DGHS statistics showed.
Bangladesh reported its first Covid cases on 8 March 2020 and the maiden deaths on 18 march in the same year.
