Bangladesh has recorded a sharp rise in Covid-19 deaths as another 96 deaths were reported in the new single-day count as of Wednesday.
The death toll climbed to 9,987 till Wednesday, according to data released by the government.
Meanwhile, 5,185 new cases were diagnosed, taking the tally to 7,03,170.
The country’s maiden cases were reported on March 8 last year and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18 that year.
