Bangladesh today saw a steep rise in Covid-19 daily infection rate as the country recorded 18.94% infection as 5,042 people tested positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours.
The number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 605,937.
Bangladesh confirmed 45 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the country’s death toll to 8,994.
On Monday, the Covid-19 infection rate was 18.38%. The infection rate was below 5% for about two months. However, within few days the daily infection rate zoomed past the former figure.
The Covid-19 daily death rate has dropped to 1.48 percent. The death rate was constant at 1.49 percent for the past two days, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
