RAB arrests fugitive convict in Akbar murder case

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive convict in Akbar murder case in the city’s Gandaria area on Sunday.

The arrested was identified as Didar Bepari, 32, son of Dalil Uddin Bepari, a resident of Tumchar village under Muladi police station of Barishal district, Deputy Director of RAB-10 Aminul Islam told BSS today.

Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-10 conducted a drive in the Gandaria area and arrested him around 8pm on Sunday, he said.

According to the RAB, during preliminary interrogation, the arrested person admitted his involvement in the murder. Since filing the case, he was hiding in various areas in the country including Gandaria of the capital.

Later, the arrested was handed over to the concerned police station.

Akbar Howlader ,60, son of Raham Ali Howlader of Kalikhola village was killed by a group of miscreants in 2018.
