Crowd of buyers in Magura’s Eid market

In Magura, the markets of the city have gathered ahead of Eid. After the 15th of Ramadan, customers rush to different stores to buy their favorite clothes. In the meantime, clothes have been sold in the city’s Baby Plaza, Nurjahan Plaza, Supermarket, Zamzam Market, Maryam Plaza, Cooperative Market, Kazi Tower, Khandkar Plaza from 10 am to 12 pm. As Friday is a holiday, the markets are more crowded.

On Friday, it was seen that the crowd of people to buy Eid clothes is increasing in different markets of Sarzmin. Afghani salwar kameez is first in the list of children’s choice for this Eid. Moreover, shopkeepers said that Naira, Sarara, Tisu, Gyne and boutique work clothes are more popular among girls.

Md. Alauddin, the owner of Doyle Fabrics and Tailors of Hajipur Complex in the city, said, that we are having a very busy time with Eid in front of us. He also said, that this year’s Eid, desi three-piece is at the top of girls’ choice. Desi three-pitch cotton ranges from Tk 700 to Tk 1500. Choa three-pitch is distributed between 1000 to 2200, Anonna three-pitch 1500 to 2000 taka. Besides, India’s Vipur is on the list of young women’s favourites. Vipur is selling for 3 thousand to 5 thousandtaka. Barish is being sold between 1500 and 2000 taka, Vinai Suti three-pitch is available between 2000 and 3000 taka.

The young woman who came to buy three-pitch said, I have bought desi three-pitch choa this Eid. I like the three-pitch of the boutique work.

This year’s Eid, the best list of women’s choices include desi tangail and cotton sarees. More crowd of women has been noticed in Babyplaza, Nurjahan Plaza of the city.

Ujjal Shikder, owner of Shikder Bastralaya, said that this year’s Eid women also have desi tangail and cotton sarees on their list. Besides, Desi Apsara is being sold between Tk 2000 and Tk 2500, Desi tantu saree is Tk 1200 and Tk 2000, Desi Taten saree is being sold between Tk 800 and Tk 1000.

Roshan Ali, owner of Madhabi Bastralaya, said that Indian sarees are appreciated in addition to desi sarees this Eid. Besides, Cotton, Katan, Dhaka Jamdani sarees are selling more. Many women are again preferring cotton jamdani, hafsi and jute jamdani.

Hasiyara Khatun, a woman who came to buy a saree, said, “I prefer desi textiles.” I have bought a desi tyail saree this Eid. The quality of Tayail saree is good and durable, so I have high regard for this saree.

Ahead of Eid, besides the markets of the city, the crowd of buyers has been noticed in the small shops on the footpaths. From morning till night, people of various professions are flocking to these shops to buy their children’s favorite clothes.
