The government of Bangladesh on Tuesday approved the emergency use of Russian Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V.
Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) Director General (DG) Maj Gen Md Mahbubur Rahman made the announcement at a media call in Mohakhali on Tuesday.
The approval was given at a meeting of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA).
Director-General of DGDA Mahbubur Rahman said, “Now there’s no legal bar to the import or use of Suptnuk V vaccine. If Bangladesh wants to purchase it, Russia will provide it next month.”
Earlier Russia had proposed to manufacture the Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine in Bangladesh.
