Dhaka Board suspends HSC registration process

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka on Sunday suspended the registration process for this year’s Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examinations due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in the country.

A fresh date to start the process to fill in forms will be announced later considering the overall situation, said a notice of the education board.

Earlier, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka directed students to complete their registration by July 11 for HSC examination, 2021.

The form fill-in process will remain open from June 29 to July 11, according to a notice issued by the board on Friday.

Educational institutions across the country have remained shut since March last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

HSC examinees were evaluated on the basis of their results in JSC and SSC exams last year, a decision which received a mixed reaction.

On June 13, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said her ministry is preparing to take SSC and HSC examinations this year with shortened syllabuses.

She also said her ministry is also considering alternative options if the Covid situation worsens in the country.
