Discussion meeting and Doa Mahfil held in memory of late industrialist engineer Rashed Maqsood Khan

Discussion meeting, milad and doa mahfil were held in memory of former president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), eminent industrialist, late engineer Rashed Maqsood Khan. On Saturday (April 27) at 4:30 pm, the event was organized by his family at the Falcon Hall of Tejgaon Air Base.

On April 20, 84-year-old Rashed Maqsood Khan fell ill at his daughter’s house in Mirpur DOHS. When he was taken to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka, the doctor declared him dead. On Sunday (April 21), the deceased was buried at Banani graveyard after Bad Zohar Janaza at Gulshan Society Mosque.

MD of Trade Services International, eminent industrialist Syed Mahmudul Haque, Assistant Chief of Air Force (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, Chairman Chittagong Stock Exchange Mr. Asif Ibrahim, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed the memorial meeting conducted by KM Saiful Islam Khan. President Mr. Ashraf Ahmed, Professor of Chemical Engineering Department of BUET. Syeda Sultana Razia, President of BUET Chemical Engineering Alumni Association Engineer Md. Habil Uddin, retired Lt Col Shahadat Hossain, BTI MD Engineer Faizur Rahman Khan.

In the beginning, the brief biography of late engineer Rashed Maqsood Khan was presented by his grandson Mohammad Junaid Hossain and at the end the vote of thanks was given by the late’s daughter Farzana Rubaiyat Khan (Soma).

Also, past and present leaders of various business organizations, alumni of BUET Chemical Engineering Department, relatives and well-wishers were present on the occasion.

Bangladesh’s prominent industrialist and business leader Engineer Rashed Maqsood Khan was born on May 10, 1939, in a noble Muslim family in Faridpur district.

Rashed Maqsood Khan, a former engineer from the chemical engineering department of BUET, served as the president of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1995 and 1998. Industrialist Rashed Maqsood Khan was the founder of Bengal Fine Ceramics Limited, Chairman of Everest Fine Porcelain Limited and Director of Bangladesh German Fine Footwear Limited. His companies are involved in ceramic manufacturing and export, readymade garments and footwear business.

Besides, he was the founding president of Bangladesh-Myanmar Business Promotion Council (BMBPC), Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTCCI) and Bangladesh-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BPCCI).

Rashed Maqsood Khan has held important responsibilities in various commercial organizations including the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB) Board.
