Organized by Department of Agriculture Extension, Nilphamari Sadar, materials for Boro Paddy, Maize and Mustard Exhibition were distributed among the ten farmer groups formed under the ‘Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (Partner) Project’ on Monday (27 November) afternoon.
According to Agriculture Office sources, 25 varieties of premium quality Boro rice seeds without paddy among seven farmer groups, high yielding P 3355 maize seeds among one farmer group, Bari mustard 14 varieties of mustard among one farmer group and high yielding mung bean among another farmer group. Seeds, chemical fertilizers, seed treatment drugs, pesticides, micronutrients etc. are distributed for the exhibition.
Later, Partner Field Schools (PFS) will be implemented among these groups to create farmer entrepreneurship and produce safe crops through good agricultural practices. Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Atiq Ahmed, Additional Agriculture Officer Md. Bakul Islam, Agriculture Extension Officer Humaira Binte Ali, Assistant Plant Conservation Officer Md. Abdul Hannan and other assistant agricultural officers were present in the distribution ceremony.
At this time, a brief briefing was given to the farmers present regarding the principles of implementation of the exhibition.
