Country’s largest and most prestigious Asia Regional Dhaka Site computing event International Collegiate Programming Contest 2024 (ICPC 2018) Asia Regional Dhaka Site was on December 07 at Shawadhinata Sommelon Kendro of Daffodil International University (DIU) at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, Dhaka.
This year’s contest is the biggest on-site programming contest for the first time in the history of ICPC hosted by DIU and sponsored by Dutch Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) in association with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) where 308 teams from more than 100 public and private universities and institutions will participate in this mega event. Professor Bill Poucher President of ICPC Foundation will inaugurate the contest joining through video conference at 9.00am. The inauguration ceremony will be also addressed by Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University. Direction will be given by Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Regional Contest Director (RCD), ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional -2024.
Shish Haider Chowdhury, ndc, Secretary, ICT Division of Ministry of Posts Telecommunication and Information Technology will be present as the chief guest at the Closing and Award giving ceremony of the program at 3.00pm. Mr. Abul Kashem Md. Shirin, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Dutch Bangla Bank Ltd. And Dr. Muhammad Mehedi Hassan, Executive Director (Additional Charge) Bangladesh Computer Council will be present as the special guests.
ACM-ICPC contest involves a global network of universities hosting regional competitions that advance teams to the ACM-ICPC World Finals. This year Daffodil International University has taken an international approach to host the 28th ICPC Dhaka Regional 2024 programming contest. The contest will start at 09.00 am and will continue till 3.00 pm uninterruptedly. ICPC Dhaka Regional 2024 is a full pack festival of computing, fun events, technical talks, cloud computing events, recruitment fair and project showcasing. There is a grand presence of all partners supporting directly and indirectly at the pre-functional areas of Shawadhinata Sommelon Kendro of DIU.
