Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the Global Summit on Managing Family Business as the strategic partner of the School of Management, Techno India University of West Bengal, India on April 9, 2022.
The summit held virtually was also co-hosted by the Bengal Business School.
Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU addressed the summit as the chief guest. Dr. Goutam Sengupta, Vice Chancellor, Techno India University, West Bengal, India Chaired the summit. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Group CEO, Daffodil Family, presented the keynote on “Inclusion of Second Generation in Family business: Challenges and Strategy.”
Professor Dr. Tripti Chakrabarti, Dean- Business Science of Techno India University, Professor Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co-Chancellor, Sri Dhaman Das, Director, K. C Das, Meghdut Roy Chowdhury, Executive Director & CIO, Techno India Group also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Kisore Roy, Director General of Techno India Group and Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Director (Research) , Techno India University, were also present.
Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman said, amily business is the oldest surviving economic system and most countries have family businesses playing significant roles in their economies. Family businesses account for the majority of ownership and contribute considerably to the country’s gross national product (GNP), total industrial employment, and total exports.
Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family said, Incorporating the second generation into the family business is a big challenge. It is very important to plan succession to face this challenge. If the next generation can be properly incorporated into the business, the growth of the family business can grow at a geometric rate. He highlighted several case studios of successful family businesses in the world, including Bangladesh.
