DIU observes National Mourning Day

Daffodil International University (DIU) has paid glowing tributes to the country’s founding president and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Monday marking his 47th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day, a press release said.

A team of Daffodil International University lead by Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, VC of the university brought out a rally from the campus and paid homage placing floral wreaths at portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka along with Dr. Shaikh Md.Allayear, Head, Department of MCT, Akhtabul Alam, deputy controller of examination, Rasel Prodhanai, deputy director (F&A), Kazi Md. DiljebKabir, deputy director ( Admin), Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, denior assistant director (PR) and a large number of faculty members, officers and students.

Earlier on August 14, 2022 to mark the occasion a discussion meeting was arranged at the Professor Aminul Islam Auditorium of Daffodil International University.Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor Daffodil International University presided over the program.The program was addressed by Professor Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul Haque Majumder, Pro VC, professor A M M Abdul Hamid, dean, faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Dr. Shaikh Md. Allayear, head, MCT Department, Dr. A B M Kamal Pasha, head, Department of ESDM, Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Hossain, provost, Younus Khan Scholar Garden, Sad Ahmed Sadi, student of Law Department and Jarin Tasnim Lisha, student of Business Administration. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, director of student affairs conducted the program. MahabubParvez, head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management recited the poem of Syed Shamsul Haque’s :AmarPorichoy” in the program.

The function was attended by all the head of the departments and Deans of different Faculties. Faculty members, Officers, employees and students were also present on the occasion.
