Police arrested Zahidul Haque Shubho, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader of Dhaka University (DU) from Talshohor Purbo Union of Brahmanbaria’s Sadar upazila on Friday early morning.
Shubho, hailing from Ashuganj upazila of the district, was the sports affairs secretary of the DU BCL. There are two separate explosives cases against him with Dhaka’s Shahbag police station and Brahmanbaria Sadar police station.
Meanwhile, police detained three Awami League (AL) and Jubo League leaders from different spots of Brahmanbaria town on Friday morning.
The arrestees are Vijaynagar Upazila AL Vice President Adel Mohammad Jahangir, former Vijaynagar upazila AL vice president Mahmudur Rahman Manna and former joint general secretary of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila Jubo League Md Nahid Sarkar.
Police from Vijaynagar Police Station and Sadar Model Police Station of the district jointly raided different areas of the town and arrested them.
The interim government banned Chhatra League, the student wing of the AL, recently.
