The Election Commission (EC) has published the draft updated list of total 12,17,75,450 voters as the final list will be published on March 2.
Of the voters, 6,20,90,137 are male, 5,96,84,389 female and third gender 924.
EC’s additional secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath published the draft voter’s list in a press conference in the capital’s Agargaon Nirbachan Bhaban today.
After the end of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad elections, 20,86,161 voters have increased. Of them, 7,65,690 are female, 13,20,396 male and 75 third gender.
In the last general elections, the number of voters was 11,96,89,289. Of them, 6,07,69,741 were male, 5,89,18,699 female and 849 third gender.
NID wing director general A K M Humayun Kabir said the draft list has been published incorporating those who became voters till January 1.
As per the EC decision, the deadline for lodging objection or demand on the draft list is February 5 and deadline for settlement of the demand and objections is February 11 and deadline for incorporating the decisions of the settlements on demands and objections in the list is February 18.
