Gazipur Press Club (Reg: No-GA-0770) Election of Executive Council for the term 2023-2024 has been completed. Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Mosaddek Hossain announced that they were elected unopposed as there were no contesting candidates for 16 posts against 17 posts in the election.
Assistant Election Commissioner Prof. Billal Hossain said that Professor Enamul Haque (Bangladesh Khabar), Senior Vice-President Syed Mokchedul Alam Liton (Dainik Mukt Sangbad), Vice-President Abdus Salam Shanto (Dainik Sangbad Pratidin), General Secretary, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed (News Times), joint Editor Mir Mohammad Farooq (Bangla Vision), Organizing Secretary Abid Hossain Bulbul (Daily Morning Time and Daily Tribunal), Treasurer Afzal Hossain (Dainik Amar Sangbad), Publicity and Publication Editor Habibur Rahman (Daily Bangladesh Post), Office Secretary Kazi Maqbul Hossain (Dainik Sonali Barta and Daily Morning Observer), Sports-Cultural and Welfare Editor Mobarak Hossain (Daily Citizen Times).
As there were two candidates for the post of president, the election was held for that post. On Saturday (September 02) from 9 am to 2 pm, voters cast their votes continuously at Shahid Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Road, Gazipur Press Club Building. Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Mosaddek Hossain announced the names of the elected at the press club office at 3 pm. At that time, the other election commissioner was veteran freedom fighter Hatim Ali.
The executive members are Prof. Amjad Hossain (Dainik Ganmukh), Prof. Masudul Haque (Bangladesh Betar), MA Farid (Daily Dhaka Times), Raihanul Islam Akand (Dhaka Tribune/Bangla Tribune), Rakibul Alam (Dainik Mukt Sangbad), Jahangir Alam ( Deepta TV), Saidur Rahman Saeed (Dainik Sonali Khabar).
