Five more dengue patients died and 968 patients were hospitalised with the viral fever in the country in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
According to the Directorate General of Heath Services (DGHS) the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in the country rose to 1,615 this year.
It said a total of 3,587 dengue patients, including 1974 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
So far, the DGHS has recorded 3,11,014 dengue cases and 3,05,812 recoveries this year.
September has so far been the deadliest month for the dengue outbreak this year with 396 fatalities and 79,598 cases, according to DGHS data.
