Four arrested for torching bus in Kalshi

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-4) today arrested four people for allegedly setting a passenger bus on fire in the city’s Mirpur Kalshi area around 11:30pm on November 18.

The arrestees are- Al Mohammad Chan (27), hailing from Barishal, M. Sagor (25), from Lalmonirhat, M. Al-amin alias Rubel (29), from Faridpur and M. Khorshed Alam (34), hailing from Panchagarh.

“On a tip-off, a team of the elite force arrested them from Mirpur area on Monday night,” Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of the Legal and Media Wing of RAB, told the newsmen today at a press briefing at RAB’s media centre in the city’s Karwanbazar.

“RAB’s vigilance to identify and bring to book those involved in the activities of arson and sabotage by analyzing CCTV and video footage published on social media and other information will continue,” he said.

According to RAB, during primary interrogation, they admitted that they were also involved in sabotage activities at Naya Paltan and nearby areas on October 28 during BNP’s grand rally.

Necessary legal steps have been taken against them, the RAB official said.
