Govt aids TK 3.20cr under pandemic in Mymensingh division

The relief distribution under humanitarian assistance program run by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief continues to tackle COVID-19 while TK 3.20cr among over Taka 4.27cr earmarked for the program has already been disbursed here as government aid.

The relief assistance with Taka 3.20 crore ultimately benefited over 3.46 lakh people of 69,373 families, said an official handout today.

In Mymensingh city, around 6,250 people of 1,250 families have received Taka 5 lakh as relief assistance.

In addition, the government also distributed Taka 38.92 crore out of Taka 39.02 crore under Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) program which has benefited over 43.25 lakh people.

Distribution of financial assistance under baby food and the cattle feed program is under process. A total of 615 families in the district have been benefited through calling to 333 numbers in the district.

In Jamalpur, over 1.73 lakh people so far have received the relief assistance of Taka 2.16 crore against the government allocation of Taka 2.33 crore. Over 12.19 lakh people have also received the VGF assistance.

The relief assistance of over Taka 2.43 crore has been distributed among 2.74 lakh people in Netrokona district. Over 5.88 lakh people also got the financial assistance under the VGF program.

In Sherpur, relief and VGF have also been disbursed. Over 1.52 lakh people got the relief and the VGF assistance of Taka 3.82 crore has also been disbursed among 4.24 lakh people.

Baby and cattle feed have also been disbursed under the program.
