General Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Prof Mia Golam Parwar Saturday said Sheikh Hasina proved herself as a criminal through fleeing away Bangladesh .
Parwar, also former lawmaker called on Hasina to prepare for trial for killings during her regimes, including Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, which led her flee to neighbouring country.
He made these remarks as the chief guest at an activist’s conference at Dumuria College premises today.
Dumuria Upazila unit of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh organized the conference with its Ameer Maulana Mukhter Hussain in the chair.
Hundreds of people, mostly university and college students, were killed in July –August uprising which turned into violent protest to oust Hasina, who had ruled Bangladesh for last 16 years, he said.
Parwar said nothing is safe in the hands of Awami League, particularly democracy, freedom of speech, media, and workers of the country.
“We seek justice for all the killings including our Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists that took place and as such that has been one of the main demands of our revolution.”
He said over 200 killing cases have been filed against Hasina across the country and she must face the trial before International Crime Tribunal where death sentences were given to our front ranking leaders including Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami, Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed staging false trial ,” he said.
Central working committee member and assistant director of Khulna regional Jamaat Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, central Majlis -e-Sura member and district unit of Jamaat Ameer Maulana Emran Hossain, among others, addressed the conference.
Later, a rally was brought out in different important streets and concluded at the Dumuria upazila premises
