Bangladesh on Thursday saw an alarming growth in the number of Covid-19 cases forn the third consecutive day as 6,469 people were diagnosed with the disease in 24 hours which is the highest in a single day to date.
The number of cases now stands at 617,764, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Besides, the country reported 59 more deaths, the highest daily figure since 26 August from the novel coronavirus.
Fatalities from the coronavirus infection have surpassed the grave 9,105 marks in the country.
Earlier on 26 August, the health department reported 54 deaths from the dreaded virus.
