The HSC and its equivalent exams for 2024 have been postponed once again.
The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee in a press release on Wednesday said the exams, scheduled to resume on August 11, had been postponed due to unavoidable reasons, and the revised schedule for the exams would be announced later.
Earlier, on August 1, the chairman of the committee and also of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, had announced that the exams would be held from August 11 according to a new schedule.
The Higher Secondary Certificate and its equivalent exams started on June 30.
However, due to the worsening flood situation in the Sylhet region, the exams under the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Sylhet, the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board and the Bangladesh Technical Education Board scheduled from June 30 were postponed until July 8. The exams were later started.
Later, due to violence centred on the quota reform movement, the exams were initially postponed for four days. Subsequently, on July 25, the Ministry of Education announced in a press release the suspension of exams for another four days.
