Police raided a flat in Gulshan and recovered drugs worth around three and a half lakh taka on November 26, but it was mentioned in the FIR that the drugs were recovered from the roof of the house.
The person who has been made a witness in the case also admitted that the liquors were recovered from flat number 203 (second floor), house number 16 and road number 59 in Gulshan.
Sri Lankan citizen, Dishan Karunarate, rented the flat. He is the country representative of Danish company called Best Seller for Bangladesh and Pakistan. He also deals in illegal liquor under the cover of his job.
According to the statement of the case, on November 26, on the basis of secret information, sub-inspector of Gulshan police station, Arifuzzaman, along with OTHER officers, raided the house. Meanwhile, 23 bottles of foreign liquor and seven cans of beer were recovered.
Later he filed a case (Case No. 19) under Narcotics Control Act with the Gulshan police station.
In the case statement, he changed the location of recovery and mentioned that the illegal drugs were recovered from the roof of the house. An unidentified person was made accused in the case. Three people including a police officer were made witnesses.
The cook of the Sri Lankan citizen, who was made a witness of the case, said the drugs were recovered from the roof of the building.
He said his boss brought wines for foreign guests. Their office is often visited by foreign buyers. His boss used to serve liquor to the buyers, he added.
