International School Dhaka (ISD) recently held its graduation ceremony virtually in honor of the class of 2021, who has just graduated from the school, says a press release.
The ceremony kicked off with a photo montage featuring all the graduates, followed by opening remarks by the school’s director, Dr Kurt Nordness. Risliana Khan and Elma Aman earned the privilege of speaking on behalf of the class of 2021 as Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively, for earning the highest and second-highest cumulative GPA in the academic year.
Academic achievement awards were presented to the graduates including High Honour Roll (minimum GPA of 3.8 in Grade 12) and Honour Roll (minimum GPA of 3.5 in Grade 12).
Students selected two faculty members to speak and provide advice and well wishes for their future studies and endeavours.
On this occasion, Chris Boyle, Secondary Principal of International School Dhaka (ISD) said, ”The Class of 2021 will not be defined by what they have lost to this challenging time but how they have tackled and responded to it. We are extremely pleased to celebrate the graduation of 23 talented students from the Class of 2021, who will now be joining the growing legacy of young global leaders and bring positive changes to the world. Congratulations to all the graduates of ISD.”
The celebration came to an end with a formal acknowledgment of the graduating class and the graduates moving their class of 2021 tassels from right to left to signify their passage from students to graduates.
