International Voluntary Foundation (IVF) distributed blankets among the cold-hit poor and helpless people to alleviate the suffering in the current cold weather January 9, a press release said Wednesday.
IVF distributed these blankets among 300 poor people in 13 villages of four unions under Rajbari and Faridpur districts.
Distribution of blankets was held through an informal ceremony. Director of Al Baraka Hospital, Dhaka and Chief Executive of IVF Md. Nazrul Islam Shawon was present as the chief guest in the blanket distribution ceremony. Lawyer of Rajbari District Bar Council and legal adviser of BIVD Ltd. Advocate Ahadul Islam Mia Ratan, head master of Basantpur Cooperative High School Md Adil Uddin Mollah, IVF member Md Jalal Master, and local public representative Ujjal Sarkar were present as special guests. Presided over by president of IVF, Basantpur Union Abdus Salam Sheikh, coordinator of IVF, Sharif Uddin Ahmed moderated the program.
Local dignitaries including public representatives of different unions, teachers of schools & madrasas were present in the event.
The volunteers who helped in distribution of winter clothes from villages are: Md Shukur, Fatema Sultana-Hatjoypur, Monira Begum-Bhabanipur, Md Sajjad Hossain-Maharajpur, Md Shukur-Raghunathpur, Salma Khatun-Laxmipur, Md Salim Member-Bajitpur, Md. Siddique Molla-Dattapara, Md. Saurabh Khan-Char Khankhanapur, Md. Noor Alam-Degree Charchandpur, Md. Sakib Raihan-Durgapur, Md. Nabil-Charbarokhada, Md. Musa Master-Nimtala, Md. Sohrab Khan-Jaipur.
