Job seekers can now access IT skills online

An online skill assessment platform has been launched to help job seekers evaluate their competence for information technology (IT)-related job opportunities.

Following self-assessment through the platform, the candidates will also get certification that will help the employers pick suitable human resources.

A joint venture of Leveraging ICT (LICT) Project and BASIS Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), under the supervision of Bangladesh Computer Council, launched the platform, according to a statement.

The platform, initially, will help assess skill levels in the fields like digital marketing, graphics design, web development using PHP & Laravel, mobile application development using Android (Java) -Android, web development with ASP.NET.

Further skill tests on more topics will be added to the platform gradually.

The platform will help candidates — either self- educated or trained by others — to certify themselves.

Immediate past president of BASIS Syed Almas Kabir said the employers will be able to easily pick skilled manpower of their choice from the candidates who have passed the BD Skills Assessment, as those who pass the assessment will be awarded certificates after confirming the minimum standard of proficiency.

Interested individuals can access the following link — assessment.bitm.org.bd and take the assessment test for a specific fee, the statement added.
