Jubo League leader held for attacking on student protest

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a Jubo League leader from Gorakanda area under the Sadar upazila Monday night on charge of attacking on anti-discrimination student movement.

The arrestee was identified as M Kauser Mia, 50, son of late Abdur Rahman hailed from Gorakanda of Sadar Upazila of Kishorganj district.

“A team of RAB-14 has arrested Jubo League general secretary of ward no-3 of Bhairab-Kamolpur area at 8pm on Monday as he is an accused of a case for committing attack on student-people procession with local weapons at Kamolpur in Bhairab under Kishorganj during the anti-discrimination movement on July 19”, said Bhairab camp commander M Shidullah of the elite force.

After the primary interrogation, the RAB commander said the Jubo League leader confessed his involvement with the attack. The RAB has handed over him to the Bhairab Police station for taking further action against him.
