Lawyers in Lama, Bandarban, formed a human chain on Thursday to demand justice for the murder of advocate Saiful Islam Alif and called for a ban on ISKCON.
The protestors, gathered at the Lama Upazila complex, emphasized that ISKCON was not a Hindutva organization, but a European NGO founded by lower-caste Hindus.
The speakers, including Senior Advocate Sadekul Mawla Dhrub Prakash Iraq, Advocate Mamun Sarkar, BNP Leader Advocate Jahangir Alam, and Advocate Kabir Hossain, condemned the killing of Alif and expressed deep concern over the safety of lawyers and journalists.
They urged the government to take stronger measures to protect professionals and ensure that no more violence or attacks occur. The protest also called for legal action against the perpetrators of Alif’s murder and for accountability in the security of citizens.
