The government has extended the countrywide lockdown on public movement till June 16 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification today to this end. The duration of previously declared lockdown ended at midnight Sunday.
The notification continued restrictions on any social (post marriage ceremony, such as Walima, birthday, picnic party and so on), political and religious programmes, which could make public gatherings, during the period.
All tourist spots, resorts, community and recreation centers will also remain shut, it said.
Restaurants can provide takeaway and online services and serve food at half capacity between 6am to 10pm.
Deputy commissioners of high-risk districts will take necessary measures to restrain the coronavirus spread in respective areas after discussing with the concerned committees.
All kinds of public transports, including inter-district buses, can carry passengers at half capacity, maintaining health guidelines including wearing of facemasks by passengers and all concerned.
The government imposed the countrywide restrictions on public movement on April 5 this year and enforced the ‘strict lockdown’ from April 14. The lockdown was later extended several times.
