Mastercard hosted an inspiring event, Mastering Dreams, Conquering Heights, to celebrate the success of the Sultana’s Dream Unbound – First Women’s Winter Expedition. Inspired by Begum Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain’s visionary literary work Sultana’s Dream, this groundbreaking summit mission was proudly supported by Mastercard, organized by Obhijatri, endorsed by UNESCO, and held in association with the Liberation War Museum. The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Special Guest His Excellency Ghanshyam Bhandari, Ambassador, Embassy of Nepal in Bangladesh. It was attended by distinguished guests including Dr. Susan Vize, Head of Office and Country Representative to UNESCO Dhaka; Mofidul Hoque, Trustee, Liberation War Museum; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Mastercard along with senior bankers, representatives from the Liberation War Museum, over 200 female bankers and corporate leaders—all gathered to celebrate the mountaineers’ extraordinary achievement. This historic expedition saw five Bangladeshi women mountaineers led by Nishat Mazumder, the first Bangladeshi woman to conquer Mount Everest along with Yasmin Lisa, Arpita Debnath, Mousumi Aktar Ap, Tahura Sultana Rekha make history by conquering five peaks in Nepal’s Langtang region, including Yala Peak (5,500m), Surya Peak (5,145m), and Gosaikunda Peak (4,747m).
