The Second National Children Drawing Exhibition was held here today with participation of around 500 children from different institutions.
Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA) organized the exhibition at the auditorium of Rajshahi Shishu Academy with the slogan of ‘Shishura Thakuk Hasite, Shishura Thakuk Khushite’.
A total of 100 scrutinized and selected drawings of the best winning children from across the country were displayed in the exhibition.
Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar and Chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Oliul Alam attended and addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively, while Deputy Director of Local Government Division Ashraful Islam was in the chair.
Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Hemayetul Islam, BSA Programme Officer Laila Arjuman Banu and District Children Affairs Officer Monjur Kader also spoke.
In his remarks, Prof Golam Sabbir said the children should be built as smarts for building smart Bangladesh envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He clarified that today’s children are the main force for building future’s prosperous Bangladesh so they should be prepared with proper education and knowledge for leading the country smartly.
Apart from this, they should be built as ideal citizens enriched with moral values through family and institutional education, he added.
