The construction of 120 houses in the 4th phase under Asharyan-2 project in Nilphamari Sadar Upazila is progressing at a fast pace.
According to the updated list, it will be possible to free Sadar Upazila from landless and homeless people by February this year, said Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Jasmin Nahar, who is constantly supervising the work of shelter project despite severe cold and dense fog.
Warlier 310 houses of the third phase were constructed and distributed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through a virtual conference.
Trees will be planted in shelter projects besides installing with electricity lines, clean water system, roads for movement, modern toilet facilities. Women living in the shelter project will be made self-reliant by providing them with various vocational training for employment.
Asked, several landless and homeless people said after 51 years of independence, we are going to get a house with the grace of the Prime Minister. “We have lived in other people’s places with difficulties,” one of them said, adding the difficulties will be over soon.
